My screen is sideways
Q. I don’t know what happened but my screen has rotated 90 degrees and is now laying on its side. It’s horizontal, landscape, portrait, I don’t know what you call it, but my neck is getting sore trying to read my screen! The display on the screen is horizontal (from left to right) rather than vertical (top to bottom).
A. This is a good one, and many support professionals won’t even know it. It’s a interesting “feature” built into some brands and models of video cards that allows the rotation of the display, so that if you are using a monitor that can also be rotated you can program or do graphic design with a screen that looks more like a normal piece of paper. Web designers and artists use this, as an example, to check long pages.
This feature is activated by pressing CTRL + ALT + Left Arrow.
To turn off this feature, simply press CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow instead.
